How does NIA differ?
We are experts at navigating the markets. Our investment strategy employs a rigorous buy and sell discipline that responds to changes in market performance. Our proprietary system identifies no-load funds that are performing well at any given time. The no-load funds that are reviewed are strategically varied in type and objective, spanning a wide variety of industrial sectors, asset classes and international regions. No matter which way the market turns, strong performers are in the ranks from which to choose.
How are NIA and Charles Schwab related?
We provide the investment advice and our clients' accounts are held at Charles Schwab (the custodian). Charles Schwab & Co is one of the largest, most experienced service providers helping clients and advisory firms achieve their goals.
Who will have access to my money?
Nickel Investment Advisors has limited power of attorney to buy and sell mutual funds in your account, but we do not have access to your money. You are the only person with direct access to the funds in your account. You always have a direct link to your account by calling Charles Schwab, or by using the Internet. They act as a custodian of your assets, which means they hold the actual mutual funds and cash for you in your account(s) and are responsible for safe-keeping. Schwab is our custodian of choice because they offer the most cost effective and convenient way to invest in mutual funds and they have a commitment to technology and service.
How is NIA compensated?
Nickel Investment Advisors is a fee-only advisor and is only compensated in the form of fees that are billed to clients quarterly. This assures complete objectivity in the portfolio management process. We are not compensated in any way except by the fees paid to us by our clients.
Is there a cost to terminate the agreement with NIA?
No, You can terminate the Investment Agreement at any time, for any reason. There are no termination charges. The final investment management fee will be prorated based on the number of days during the quarter the account was under management. Since there are no redemption fees or surrender charges, clients are free to leave if dissatisfied. We must continuously earn your satisfaction.
What is the minimum size portfolio I need to get started?
$250,000 is the minimum client relationship. Family accounts may be combined to reach this minimum.
